Description
Archaeological evaluation carried out at the former Ryland's Garage on City Road in 2003 comprising 6 evaluation trenches.
The evaluation indicated the presence of at least four phases of activity consisting of Roman gullies, pits and deposits, Medieval deposits, Post medieval pits and deposits and Modern pits, cultivation soils and brick structures. The Roman evidence is indicative of property divisions.
