Description
An archaeological evaluation of three trenches at 49-51 Lower Bridge St. in 1990 in response to proposals to redevelop outbuildings and regrade a yard surface to the rear of the main building. The earliest recorded deposits were Roman, and included a possible (unexcavated) cremation burial and a series of three potential yard surfaces, a backfilled cellar that may be medieval, and an eighteenth century deposit or substantial pit fill.
