Full Description
The precise location of the abbey court of St Thomas is debated, however, it is known to have been granted to the Abbey in the Foundation Charter of 1093. Morris suggests that the court was located on the south side of the abbey gate (1), however, a plan of the abbey at the Dissolution (Harl Mss 2073) shows St Thomas' Court on the north side of the Abbey Gate (2).
