Archaeological watching brief on trenches at 20 City Road in advance of redevelopment. The site had previously been used as a theatre since the late 19th century. A series of archaeological horizons were identified across the site including small amounts of Roman finds and features. Some evidence of 18th century tanning activity as well as later 19th century housing was also encountered.
