Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief and excavation was undertaken during ground disturbance works in relation to a residential and commercial development at 12 - 22 Commonhall St., Chester. The site was graded to three levels. Roman and medieval pits and medieval garden soils were uncovered and these contained a number of fragments of datable pottery. Eighteenth and nineteenth century building material and demolition debris was also identified.
