Abstract/Summary

Archaeological evaluation carried out at the site of the Linenhall Stables on Stanley Street. Seven trenches identified 6 phases of activity comprising early Roman deposits, activity relating to the working live of the medieval friary, the demolition of the friary in the 16th century, 17th-18th century cultivation deposits, the Linen Hall itself built 1785 and finally the demolition of the Linen Hall and the construction of the stables in the early 20th century
