Full Description
Archaeological excavation at the site of the former Linen Hall and Franciscan friary in 2002 revealed a post medieval cultivation layer, extending across the whole evaluation area (2). The deposit contained material dating to the seventeenth or eighteenth centuries, and generally reflects the impression given by cartographic evidence which shows this area as under cultivation at that time (1, 2).
