Description

Excavated by Prof Barri Jones, University of Manchester in 1980. Single square trench excavated between Castle Court and the northern side of Chester Road. Foundation trenches for a timber building (potentially the 'principia') and a well, back-filled with horse manure, were found. No accessible interim report located, although one may be held by Cheshire Museums which hold the finds archive. (1)
