Abstract/Summary
Report of an archaeological watching brief and excavation undertaken at Forest Hill Quarry, Sandiway, Northwich, Cheshire, CW8 2DL, during the phased extension of the quarry, to the north-west. The development area comprises irregular plots of land approximately 8.2ha in extent and comprising arable fields; it is separated into two areas by a railway line between Cuddington to Greenbank stations. Following the removal of topsoil and some subsoil, features identified as of archaeological interest were hand excavated and recorded.
