Abstract/Summary

The two trial trenches excavated demonstrate that archaeological deposits do survive; fragments of Roman walling survives in Trial Pit 2, the lower levels of both trial pits contain Roman material and medieval activity in Trial Pit 1 is attested with the identification of a possible rubbish pit.
