Full Description
A linear feature of sandstone rubble was recorded as lying on a north - south orientation in Trial Pit 2 of an evaluation at 105 -109 Foregate St. carried out in 1992 (1). Within an orange clay layer containing Roman finds, and overlying the bedrock. The line of rubble was interpreted as a Roman wall foundation, although the exact nature of it was impossible to determine given the small excavation area (1).
