Abstract/Summary

An archaeological desk-based assessment was produced in 2000 for land along the line of a proposed re-routing of the A500 to bypass the villages of Basford, Hough and Shavington. It revealed a suite of archaeological sites of local to regional significance within its study area. The sites ranged in date from the Prehistoric to Post Medieval. Three of the sites were close or directly on the line of the proposed road.
