Abstract/Summary

Archaeological evaluation undertaken in May 1995 in advance of proposed golf course and housing development at Vale Royal House and its grounds. The archaeological work comprised a desk-based assessment, an earthwork survey of pasture land and an intensive artefact suvey of arable land. The report discusses the Abbey Precinct, the Vale Royal Iron Furnace and also records some earthwork features including mounds, platforms and a potential bank boundary.
