Summary

St John’s Road consists of a distinctive suburban housing estate, probably designed primarily by James Harrison in the 1850s. The suburb was promoted by Enoch Gerrard, who also had the Queen’s Park Bridge built, in the 1850s to 1860s as a middle class residential suburb. The area comprises three streets each with four semi detached houses and cottages and a detached property on Queen’s Park Road. The Victoria Pathway area was built as a lower middle class suburb with each house set within a regular plot.

St John’s Road consists of a distinctive suburban housing estate, probably designed primarily by James Harrison in the 1850s. The suburb was promoted by Enoch Gerrard, who also had the Queen’s Park Bridge built, in the 1850s to 1860s as a middle class residential suburb. (1)
