Description

Investigations on the site of the old Littlewoods store in 1998 during refurbishments by Marks and Spencer's. Site specific on the escalator pits and lift shaft. Several medieval and later walls and a sandstone hearth. Finds include Roman roof tile, a stamped legionary tile, and Roman to post medieval pottery (2).
