Description
Report contains the results of the second phase of an archaeological impact assessment undertaken during December 2001 in the area of Hunter Street as part of a larger redevelopment proposal in the Northgate Area. This phase of the assessment consisted of the hand excavation of three test pits. Significant archaeology of Roman date was encountered at varying depths, in test pits 7 and 9, its vulnerability will be dependent on the location, depth and extent of ground disturbance associated with the development proposals
