Description

Desk top study and small-scale archaeological evaluation carried out in response to a proposal for development on two small plots on either side of St Olave Street. Research indicated high potential for evidence based on proximity to important archaeological remains from the Roman to medieval period as well as previous excavations in the area. The evaluation subsequently carried out on site revealed some archaeological deposits, including a Roman cultivation horizon, indicating a good potential for more comprehensive excavation.
