Description

An archaeological evaluation carried out mid-August 2009 within the gravel car park to the rear of Oddfellows Hall, Chester to inform the proposed erection of an hotel annex building on the property. The excavation of three 2 by 2m trenches within the grounds of Oddfellows Hall, a seventeenth century building, revealed 1.5m of post-medieval make-up deposits, which is thought to represent raising of the ground level to that of the hall (1).
