Full Description
Residual Roman pottery and ceramic brick material, recovered from later deposits and above bedrock during 2009 excavations at the Oddfellows Hall (1). The excavators did note that there appeared to be a greater concentration of Roman period finds towards the base of the excavations, overlying bedrock, but no contemporary features or soil layer were present (1).
Subsequent investigations at the site in 2011 encountered a small quantity of residual Roman pottery, they were not discussed in detail, however. (2)
