Description
An archaeological watching brief carried out at The Ship Inn, Handbridge, Chester, monitoring the excavation of pits to investigate existing foundations ahead of refurbishment work. Five test pits dug alongside internal walls, within the yard and against the boundary wall to the rear of the inn. A few sherds of pottery including a fragment of German stoneware and a fragment of lead was recovered.
