Full Description
Several archaeological test pits excavated to the rear of the Ship Inn in Handbridge in 2008 encountered evidence of a possible backfilled quarry in test pit 3 located within the cellar of the inn. The deposit consisted of crushed sandstone material with no datable finds. (1)
