Description
The sandstone retaining wall at the front of St Olave's Church has become unstable and threatens the area within the curtilage. An archaeological evaluation consisting of three trial trenches in the small churchyard area fronting St Olave's Church was undertaken in order to establish the degree of archaeological mitigation required. The results indicated that complex archaeology survived on site, including Roman cobbles and medieval burials.
