Description
An archaeological evaluation and watching brief undertaken at a proposed development site at Bollands Court, Chester, consisting of eight small test pits spread evenly across the area. In some areas, particularly Trenches 3 and 8, archaeologically significant deposits and features appear to lie very close to ground level. Although the limited scope of this investigation means that the complexity and extent of remains cannot be ascertained with certainty, the information retrieved, together with previous observations, suggest the widespread survival across the site of deeply stratified remains of all periods.
