Description
Canal Side, 1900: Human remains recorded during the cutting of a trench near Pemberton's Parlour, total of 5 skeletons (1). CHER 8040/3
Stocks Lane, Boughton, 1900: Cinerary urn of Upchurch ware (2) CHER 8006/3
Grosvenor St. and Castle St., 1900: An Antonine Samian cup stamped AMBITOVT MA is recorded from the site of the Saddle Inn, at the corner of Bunce Street and Grosvenor Street (2, 3). Also finds of iron spearhead, key and bronze bell found at Saddle Inn are reported to have been found in 1900 (1). CHER 8030/25
Foregate St. North, 1900: Under the pavement in front of Messrs Parry's Coach Factory (in 1926 was Richardson's China Shop), at a depth of just over four feet, a coloured cobble pavement with geometric patterns betweeen six to fifteen feet from the building line. A lead pipe and pottery were found below this paving (2). CHER 8142
