Full Description
Found during the course of construction work under the pavement in front of Parry’s Coach Factory, later Richardson’s China Shop on the north side of Foregate St. (possibly at 79 Foregate St.) in 1897, and at the site of the Brewer’s Arms just to the west (61 – 63 Foregate St.) at the same time, were sections of a sandstone kerb found just within the building line of the properties (1). The 1:500 First Edition map of 1875 identifies 79 Foregate St. as a ‘Coach Manufactory.’
