Abstract/Summary

Additional evaluation at Hamilton Place: this took the form of a single linear trench excavated within a bedsit room. The results have shown that, away from the areas of deep cellaring, mediaeval archaeology of significance may be anticipated at a depth of c.8000mm from modern ground level. Also, it seems likely that the top of undisturbed Roman archaeology lies at a depth of c. 1.80m from current ground level.
