Abstract/Summary

Monitoring of intrusive groundworks (lift shaft, toilet extension, access ramp) carried out in connection with the conversion of County Hall to new use by the University of Chester revealed evidence of post-medieval make-up deposits, possibly associated with the levelling of the former County jail.
