From within a small investigation trench within the County Hall building, a substantial deposit relating to the demolition of the former Gaol (CHER 10877/6), and the levelling of the ground a this location in advance of the construction of the County Hall (1). Given the limited extent of the excavation area, no other observations on the nature of this deposit is possible.
