Abstract/Summary
An archaeological field survey was undertaken in 2003 at Sowcar Farm, Rainow and Bollington, as part of an assessment for the Countryside Stewardship Scheme Upland Option. The survey area comprised one holding east of Bollington. A systematic survey of the farmland was made with features identified sketch plotted at 1:2500. An extensive archive search was not undertaken. The Sowcar Farm complex, comprising farmhouse, outbuildings and water troughs, is of seventeenth to nineteenth century date.
