Summary

Grade II listed corn barn. Built in the late 17th century with 20th century alterations. It has coursed squared buff sandstone rubble walls with a stone-slate roof. There is a cart entrance, two square pitch-holes (to unload fodder into) and two lines of ventilation slots. There are external stone steps to the loft against the right gable.

Full Description

Corn Barn at Sowcar Farm, Ingersley Road. Late C17 with C20 alterations. Coursed squared buff sandstone rubble. Stone-slate roof and stone ridge. Cart entrance towards left under segmental rubble arch. Door at right end has ashlar surround. Between are two square pitch-holes and two lines of ventilation slots. External stone steps to loft against right gable (1).
