A now demolished, mill is marked on the 1st edition OS 6" (1881-82) and 25" (1875) maps of Cheshire.The mill was built for silk throwing, which requires a low power capacity. It was situated away from known water sources which may suggest the use of horse power though by the 1870's it would have been steam powered.

The mill was built for silk throwing, which requires a low power capacity. The mill is situated away from known water sources, suggesting the use of horse power. Steam powered by 1870's. (1). On the OS 1st ed. 25" and 6" maps (2 & 3).
