A now demolished, mill is marked on the 1st edition OS 6" (1881-82) and 25" (1875) maps of Cheshire.The mill was built for silk throwing, which requires a low power capacity. It was situated away from known water sources which may suggest the use of horse power though by the 1870's it would have been steam powered.
