Full Description
The mill was built for silk throwing, which requires a low power capacity. The mill is situated away from known water sources, suggesting the use of horse power. Steam powered by 1870's. Now demolished (1). The reference 1 locates the mill at SJ8541 6311. This location is near the river and contradicts the text. Also no mills are shown on the OS maps at this location. Suggested location is at SJ8570 6298, in a mill building marked on the OS 1st ed. 25" map, at Swan Bank (2).
