Monument record 2887/1/1 - Silver Springs Mill

The mill and mill pond are depicted on the Tithe map for Buglawton township (1891). The accompanying award records the owner as a John Washington and the mill as a silk mill (1). They are also depicted on the 1st and 2nd Edition 25" to 1 mile maps, 1881-1886 and 1897-1898 respectively (2 & 3). By 1909 the mill has been demolished or had been incorporated into the Silversprings Bleach and Dye Works (see CHER 2887/1/2) (4). Listed in the gazetteer of East Cheshire Mills (5).
