Summary

Only the Engine House survives from this Mill. Marked on 1st edition OS 6" (1881-82) and 25" (1875) maps of Cheshire. The arrival of the silk industry in the 1750's brought new prosperity and growth to Congleton with up to thirty four mills operating in the town using the River Dane & Howty.

Full Description

Engine House survives as a free standing brick built enclosure at ground floor/basement level. Probably housed a low capacity, vertical cylinder engine. (1). On 1st ed. OS 25" & 6" Maps (2 & 3).
