The site is now occupied by a brick farmhouse which stands on a stone plinth of sixteenth or seventeenth century date (see CHER 687/2). The layout of the farmstead is square suggesting a moat originally. The original Abbey boundary gives a cross at this site.

Earnslow Grange, in Sandiway, partly in Weverham and partly in Whitegate, stands on the south side of the road leading from Chester to Northwich, at the distance of about three miles from the former place. It was granted to sir Thomas Holcroft, along with the site of Vale Royal, by charter 33 Hen. VIII. and has descended with it to the present proprietor.
