Summary

Grade II* listed farmhouse and attached front garden wall. It may have a late medieval core with late 16th century early 17th century crosswings. The façade dates to around 1840 and there are further 19th century extensions to the rear. The building is timber-framed and is built in a tall sandstone plinth. The timber framing is covered in a flemish bond brick skin and it has a welsh slate roof. Inside the house the timber frame is visible in places. There is some large framing in the hall wing and small framing to the hall upper storey and crosswings. There is also a mid 18th century mural on the walls in an upstairs room. It shows Marbury Hall and fragments of a view of a lighthouse and two windmills.
