Full Description
No.110-2 (Old Hall Farm Cottages), Runcorn Road. Originally one house, now two cottages, dated 1758. Brown brick with stone quoins and sash windows (1). Main point of interest is overmantel painting in No.112 (the Hawthorns) discovered under the wall paper whilst the house was being restored. It must be of c.1758 for one of the Milner family, who also had similar paintings done at Hall Green Farmhouse, Acton Bridge, which also survive. This painting has had two repaintings masking its original detail (2).
