Full Description
A branch from the Manchester - Birmingham Railway ending in approximatley four sidings. A loading platform is clearly visible at the southern and western end of the sidings which lie adjacent to Hall Road. The sidings contain tank transporters and tanks are clearly visible on the platform and the lane (Brereton Road) to the south. A spur connects to the large depot to the east CHER 4643/2 (1). Rail head for the transportation of tanks and other vehicles for repair at the large works to the south. Adjacent to Hall Road was a large concrete platform from which the tanks were loaded on to the trains. This was destroyed when the railway was taken up (2).
