Full Description

Cropmarks of 2 curved banks at Bank Farm, possible field boundaries (1). Two banks or ditches are visible on aerial photographs dating from the 1940s. Other boundary like earthworks are visible to the east. Narrow ridge and furrow like earthworks are located to the immediate west (2). The curved banks/ditches correspond to a field boundary shown on the Ordnance Survey 1st Edition 25" to 1 mile map (3). More recent aerial photography would suggest that these features have been levelled (4). The Cheshire HLC Project suggests a late medieval - early post medieval date for this field system (5 & 6).
