Full Description
Bronze Age inurned cremation found c.1844 during gravel digging near Macclesfield Road, Over Alderley. Urn described as having small perforated lugs at intervals around the upper part (1). Neither site nor urn can be located (2). Ormerod reports that 'in several instances fragments of urns, bones and ashes have been discovered' from tumuli in the grounds of Birtles Hall (3).
