<1> Turner R C, 1986, Edge - Notes on the Archaeological & Historic Landscapes (Unpublished Report). SCH1099.
A leat from the mill pond in Lower Wood (CHER 1699/2/3) to Lowercross Mill (CHER 1699/2/1). It runs for c.400m from a sliuce gate in the mill pond's dam, under an attractive stone bridge behind Dyer's Farm, to Lowcross Mill Farm in a deep clay-lined channel.

The course of the leat is clearly depicted on modern Ordnance Survey maps from Lowcross Mill to Scar Lane.
