Summary

Two buildings are depicted on the Tithe Map for Leighton (1847) to the west of Minshull New Road; they also are depicted on First Edition Ordnance Survey mapping (c1875) and labelled 'Totty's Hall'. By the time of the OS Second Edition map (c1898), the original buildings have disappeared and have been succeeded by new buildings, also labelled as 'Totty's Hall'. These buildings are visible on 1940s RAF air photographs, but are no longer present on photographs dating to the 1970s.

A heritage assessment undertaken for land at Leighton West notes the site of Totty's Hall in the area of study. Two buildings are visible on the Tithe Map for Leighton dating to 1847; the details for plot 11 are as follows:- Owner: Nickson / Occupier: Joseph Allwood / Plot Name: House Yard Gardens etc.

The buildings are also visible on historic First Edition Ordnance Survey mapping (c1875) and labelled as 'Totty's Hall'. However, by the time of the Second Edition map (c1898), the original buildings are no longer extant but have been replaced by a series of new buildings, also labelled as 'Totty's Hall'.
