Havannah weir, along with Havannah bridge, were both constructed in the early-mid nineteenth century and were associated with the now-demolished Havannah Mill complex, comprising Havannah Mill, Windsor Mill and three rows of associated workers' cottages. The mill complex was located on the east side of the River Dane. The tithe apportionment for the site records the owner as Gibbs Crawford Antrobus of Eaton Hall.
