Full Description

This map depicts a horseshoe shaped quarry at this location. Scattered trees may indicate that the quarry is not in use.

A small L shaped building has been constructed towards the northern end of the quarry. No trees are depicted within the quarry.

The building depicted on earlier maps (see 2 & 3) is roofless. The quarry appears disused.

A post medieval/twentieth century quarry and associated trackways are visible as extant earthworks on 2011 vertical aerial photography (see 6). The quarry contains a ruined rectilinear structure or building, probably part of the complex. Two trackways lead from the quarry down the eastern slope of Kerridge Hill, joining a network of trackways visible as incised hollow ways that criss-cross the hillside.
