Full Description
<1> L-P Archaeology, 2015, Archaeological Watching Brief Report, Dee Lane Chester (Client Report). SCH7810.
A watching brief during the installation of a new power cable in 2014 observed a late medieval 16th century sandstone and brick wall running northeast-southwest measuring 7 metres in length parallel to the section, exposed to a depth of 0.75m. The construction of the wall appears to be similar to Late Medieval Walls known of in Chester. The brick type is thought to be 16th/ 17th century and the presence of late medieval tile material within the construction supports a potential 16th century date for this wall.
