Summary

The site of a former deer park is recorded in a number of field names and farm names in this area. The earliest reference to the park dates from 1559, but documentary references to the park are sparse.

The earliest documentary reference to Roe Park (spelt Rawe Park) dates from 1559.

The accompanying award records thirty-three adjacent plots which include 'Park' in their name. Typically these are 'Roe Park', 'Inclosure from Roe Park' or 'Park Croft'. In general they are owned by George Holland Ackers and occupied by William Yarwood. There are a number of place-names associated with Roe Park in the surrounding area.
