The earliest documentary reference to Roe Park (spelt Rawe Park) dates from 1559.
<2> See map for surveyor, c.1837-51, Cheshire Tithe Maps and Awards, EDT 278/2, 1838 (Maps and Plans). SCH3266.
The accompanying award records thirty-three adjacent plots which include 'Park' in their name. Typically these are 'Roe Park', 'Inclosure from Roe Park' or 'Park Croft'. In general they are owned by George Holland Ackers and occupied by William Yarwood. There are a number of place-names associated with Roe Park in the surrounding area.
