Three fields located to the immediate south of Swill Brook with the field names of Big Wall Field, Wall Field and Little Wall Field

Wall/walling is a local dialect term for the action of boiling brine in salt-making.

Two Romano-British salt pans have also been recovered from Little Wall Field (CHER 2400/0/2-3) and a further pan from the vicinity (CHER 2400/0/1). It is probable that this area contains at least one salt making site dating from the Roman period.
