Summary
During the excavation of a continuous trench along the Nun's Road to repair a gas main in 2006, a mixed deposit containing post medieval pottery and fragmented ceramic building material was recorded. It was suggested that the material was imported and dumped at this location to consolidate the ground for later road surfaces.
