Summary

Archaeological investigations at Edgar’s Field in 2009 and 2010 identified traces of post medieval cultivation soils in the southern part of the park. The evidence consisted of a dark grey silt deposit [103] containing mixed pottery from the Roman to post medieval period, it was encountered in trench 1 of the evaluation in 2009 and in the subsequent southern area in 2010.

Archaeological investigations at Edgar’s Field in 2009 and 2010 identified traces of post medieval cultivation soils in the southern part of the park.

The evidence consisted of a dark grey silt deposit [103] containing mixed pottery from the Roman to post medieval period, it was encountered in trench 1 of the evaluation in 2009 and in the subsequent southern area in 2010.
