Full Description
Archaeological investigations at Edgar’s Field in 2009 and 2010 identified traces of post medieval cultivation soils in the southern part of the park.
The evidence consisted of a dark grey silt deposit [103] containing mixed pottery from the Roman to post medieval period, it was encountered in trench 1 of the evaluation in 2009 and in the subsequent southern area in 2010.
