Full Description
During the excavation of an extensive series of trial trenches carried out in advance of proposed redevelopment of the Dee House in 1993, evidence of a number of features of medieval date, located to the south of the amphitheatre, was recorded (1).
In Trench 10, a possible cess pit that might date to the medieval period was revealed. It cut earlier Roman features, and although the restricted nature of the excavation area made interpretation difficult, the consistency and make-up of the fills was reminiscent of cess pit deposits (1).
